NON-COGNITIVIST THEORIES
Non-cognitivist theories, as opposed to cognitivist theories, state that ethical sentences do not represent true propositions, hence they are neither true nor false. Propositions in this case referring to a statement that can be either true or false. Non-cognitivism, just like ethical subjectivism, error theory, etc is another form of moral-antirealism. Though some, like Mark Timmons and Terrence Horgan, make a distinction between the two as well as acknowledge the potential for cognitivist forms of expressivism, the majority of non-cognitivist forms are also forms of expressivism.
