OMNES TRES ETHICAE TRACTA

All three ethics covered in detail. Since the founding of this non-profit in July of 2025, we have been committed to making ethics accessible to everyone. At the heart of our work are carefully crafted guides that cover the theories and precepts from all three ethics. Use our structured learning pathways to explore metaethics, normative ethics, and applied ethics.

THE BASICS

When We Break It Down, What Is Ethics?

Ethics is the philosophical study of moral phenomena. Also called moral philosophy, it investigates questions about what people ought to do or which behavior is morally right. Its main branches include normative ethics, applied ethics, and metaethics. Ethics is closely connected to value theory, which studies the nature and types of value, like the contrast between intrinsic and instrumental value.

Moral ontology studies the nature of moral judgments, exploring whether moral facts are universal for all or relative to different people or cultures (and more).
