COGNITIVIST THEORIES
In contrast to non-cognitivism, cognitivist theories state that evaluative moral sentences convey propositions (they are 'truth-apt' or 'truth carriers', capable of being true or incorrect). Unlike error theory (which is a cognitivist theory), which maintains that all such claims are false, the majority of cognitivism (such as moral realism and ethical subjectivism) state that some of them are true.
